GLOBAL PEDOMETER CHALLENGE 2009
Welcome to the Healthwise Global Pedometer Challenge!
The 6 week virtual journey will take in the unique sights of the spectacular Kumuka Worldwide Middle East Discovery trip starting in Istanbul and traveling to Amman. A huge thanks once again to Kumuka Worldwide for their generous prizes.
The aim is for all team members to achieve 10,000 steps a day that's 420,000 in 6 weeks. This challenge is for all fitness levels as all you have to do is walk, move more and STEP IT UP!
NB: Team Captains please make sure you enter your teams steps on Monday morning each week.

How to register your team online: (Registration Opens October 5th)
1) Pick a team of 4 - 6 people
2) Have your Team Captain (only) register all members at the following site: http://hwprojects.net/ped_global/home
- Go to "Register now"
- use your selected email and you will be sent your teams password - once you have received your login details and password you can now add other team members to your team
- Every Monday morning team captains need to log in and enter everyone's weekly steps.
3) Pay the $25 registration fee per person (credit card, preferred rewards or cheque made out to "Flight Centre Healthwise" to Anna Fisher @ YYZ Head Office (1 Dundas St West, Suite 200 - Toronto, ON M5G 1Z3). (This fee includes your pedometer).
3) Start walking everywhere on Monday, October 26 for the next 6 weeks.
4) You are able to track your progress:

The Pedometer Challenge starts Monday 26th Oct and will continue for 6 weeks, concluding on Sunday 6th December 2009. (NZ is starting challenge one week later but still 6 weeks in total)

Pedometers
Your Healthwise Step Pedometer is all ready to go for counting steps. Reset it to zero on Mon Oct 26th October 2009.
The Challenge
a. Start recording your steps from the morning of Mon Oct 26th. Record these each evening and give your total to your Team Captain first thing on the following Mon morning. This needs to be done each week.
NB: Clear your steps at the end of the day by pressing reset on your pedometer.
b. Each Monday from Oct 26th the Team Captain enters the team results into the Healthwise Global Pedometer Challenge website
c. The very last day for recording your steps is Sun 6th December 2009 (NZ one week later) with the results to be entered on Mon 7th Dec by 5pm
The Goal
Set your own personal and team goal – aim for 10,000 steps per day per person.
Rules
a. Only the steps on the pedometer will count towards your step total. If you do exercise where you are unable to wear your pedometer it will not count towards your total steps.
b. All step totals are to be entered by Mon 5pm starting Oct 26th.
c. If you forget to enter the number of steps you have completed in a week by 5pm Mon, the average number of steps per person for a week will added to your team total.
d. The winners will be announced mid Decemebr 2009.
NB The judge’s decision is final – no correspondence will be entered into.
