Edmonton:
June 20 & 21, 2009
Rundle Park

We are back for our 23rd year! Rundle Park will be heating up on June 20th and 21st with the Money Mart Easter Seals 24 Hour Relay. We are taking you to the beautiful country of Mexico with this year's theme being a Mexican Fiesta.

That's right... we are having a Mexican Fiesta, complete with sombreros, fabulous refreshments and food, Mexican style entertainment, a limbo contest, and much more.

This is your chance to join us for a weekend of outlandish fun, while helping out Albertans in need with your fundraising efforts.

Last years relay raised over $161,000 that helped purchase power wheelchairs, van lifts, and other necessary equipment to help raise the quality of life for Albertans with disabilities and special needs.

This year promises to be our biggest and best event yet. Returning participants already know what a rewarding weekend it is. We welcome all former participants back again this year and invite all first timers to find out what Easter Seals is all about!

In 2008, together 20 teams raised an amazing amount of $160,660 in support of Easter Seals Alberta programs. Over the past 22 years more than $2,688,616 has been raised to enhance the lives of Albertans with disabilities and special needs.

Teams are comprised of up to 20 friends, family members and co-workers.

Each team is asked to raise a minimum of $5,000 (or $250 per team member) in pledges. Then, on Relay weekend (June 20 & 21, 2009) join us for a party to beat all parties...the "Mexican Fiesta".

All the excitement begins at Rundle Park on June 20th at 10:00 am and join us to beat our fundraising goal of $160,000.

The Edmonton Relay offers teams a chance to rent tents for the event. If you would like more information about this opportunity, please call Darla Zuk, Events Manager, at 780.429.0137, Ext. 308.

Easter Seals Alberta is committed to helping children and their families overcome the challenges of a disability. By providing families with necessary mobility and accessibility equipment, we can help ensure they live a better life.  For more details on our programs and services, please check out our website at www.easterseals.ab.ca.

Toronto:
Sat. June 20th - Sun June 21st, 2009
Coronation Park, Toronto

Join us on Saturday, June 20th to Sunday, June 21st 2009 for the annual Easter Seals 24 Hour Relay to help support Ontario´s kids with physical disabilities, taking place in Toronto at Coronation Park (711 Lake Shore Blvd. W. at Strachan Ave.).

The Easter Seals 24 Hour Relay is dubbed Canada´s "Party with a Purpose," to help support children and youth with physical disabilities. This high-spirited team fundraising event combines camaraderie and friendly competitions, as teams come together for 24 hours of wacky activities and good clean fun.

2009 marks the 18th year for the 24 Hour Relay. To date, the Ontario Relay has raised over $7.3 million for children, youth and young adults with physical disabilities.

Easter Seals Ontario provides funding to families of children and youth with physical disabilities for costly equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, leg braces and communication devices. As children grow, most equipment must be replaced and can cost families between $10,000 and $40,000 a year. And, the need is greater than ever.

Register for the Easter Seals 24 Hour Relay with your family, friends, neighbours and colleagues for a memorable weekend that helps Easter Seals kids live their lives with a greater level of independence, accomplishment and dignity.

What else is there to do during the 24 Hour Relay?
The Easter Seals 24 Hour Relay offers participants much, much more in the way of entertainment. Team members can partake in various onsite games and activities:

Volleyball tournament
Softball tournament
Tug of War
And more!
Looking to relax for a bit? Take a break with a relaxing massage, reboot with a smoothie from the Booster Juice booth or just sit back and have a ‘cold one’ in the beer tent. We have a great line-up of entertainment to chill with as well; comedian, live bands, karaoke, ‘Relay Idol’, movies and more!

For children or big kids at heart, the Kids' Zone is the place to be, offering a wide range of activities to keep all entertained throughout the day.

Our Food tent provides the perfect solution for your cravings. BBQ wraps, pasta station, salad, desserts and don’t forget the midnight pizzas that teams can pre-order. With hot coffee, cold water and drinks available to help keep you hydrated throughout the event. The Relay also offers participants the traditional Saturday complimentary breakfast and the Sunday morning Father's Day Pancake Breakfast courtesy of our friends at Golden Griddle.

The music and fun go on and on at the Easter Seals 24 Hour Relay!
